Not a happy ending

Zira couldn't believe her eyes. There, laying in front of her, was her beloved King Scar; dead. His body had been torn apart by those damned hyenas, but it was still undeniably her Scar; her king, her love, the father of her young son Nuka and the unborn cubs in her womb. She looked up towards Pride Rock, watching as the other lionesses embraced the returned Simba, rejoicing for his return. There weren't any tears shed, no sadness, no mourning, only joy. 

Zira felt tears welling up in her eyes. Those traitorous sluts didn't even care that their king was dead! Hell, they seemed GLAD! She watched that brat Simba climb up to the top of the rock, her heart filling with more hatred with every step he took.

"Mama?"

Nuka's small voice broke Zira out of her thoughts. He was hiding under Asami, who was trying to shield the cub from seeing his dead father. 

"Mama? What will we do now that Dad's gone?"

Zira gritted her teeth, trying to swallow back her tears. "I'll tell you what we'll do; we'll take back the Pridelands for your fallen father! We will make Simba rue the day he came back to Pride Rock and took our beloved Scar from us!"
